In its document ‘Sustainability Matters – Our Green Plan 2021 – 2024’ CDDFT sets out how it  intends to provide the safest and most compassionate joined up healthcare whilst taking all reasonable steps to minimise its adverse impact on the environment, thereby not compromising the health and wellbeing of future generations.

The Plan commits the trust to fully implementing its sustainable procurement policy, increasing its CO2 extraction and improving staff health through greening its estates, enhancing biodiversity and continuing to engage in sustainable, local procurement whenever possible.  Head of Catering Stuart Wray said “alongside more local produce, we are going to be offering more plant-based meals to staff and patients, and using herbs grown in our own garden in meals across the Trust.  It’s a really exciting time for sustainable catering!”
