Fooddurham.net is the website for the County Durham Food Partnership.
In 2011 Durham Community Action received funding from Durham and Darlington PCT Charitable Trust to develop a Sustainable Local Food Strategy and a Food Partnership for County Durham. An event was held in March 2012 to launch the project, bring partners together, and provide an overview of the issues. Over two years participatory work took place to build a strong network and produce a Strategy that had input and agreement from a wide range of partners.
Purpose of the partnership
The purpose of the partnership is ‘to work together for a more equitable, sustainable, fairer food system for County Durham providing access to food that is healthy for people and the planet.’
You can support our work by signing up today to the County Durham Food Charter and making a commitment to do one new thing to support its aims.
We are part of a wider family of Food Partnerships, Food Policy Councils, and other groups across the globe who are working to create policies and practice to transform our food system in to one that is more equitable and sustainable.
The Partnership and on-going work is hosted by Durham Community Action.
