Responding to the Government announcement that open air markets could reopen, the management committee of Barnard Castle Farmers’ Market decided to reopen on Saturday 6 June 2020. Durham County Council’s nine regular outdoor markets will also restart across the County in the next few weeks, with Durham Outdoor Market holding its first event on Saturday 13th June. All markets will look and feel very different as market managers have had to change layouts to ensure social distancing and have taken a range of other safety measures and the situation will be reviewed during and after every market day.
Barnard Castle Farmers’ Market focuses entirely on locally produced foods and gives local producers like Lovesome Oil and Spicy Monkey an opportunity to link direct to their customers.
