Sam is Senior Lecturer in Sociology based at Durham University’s School of Applied Social Sciences. She holds a BA and PhD in Sociology and specializes in rural sociology and ethnography. Recent research projects and publications have focused upon the role of the school in the English rural village, the social and cultural aspects of game shooting and changing patterns of land ownership in the countryside. With a team at Durham and within the N8 group of universities, she is part of a research group exploring food networks and pathways. She runs a smallholding conservation project in Co. Durham.
