There are lots of good reasons to reduce the amount of watering we do in our gardens – from reducing our impact on the environment to making the best use of limited volunteer time.
David and Dianne at Polemonium Plantery in East Durham hosted a session designed to help to manage water better in the garden.
The event included a tour of their garden and allotment which contain five National Plant Collections and covered things like:
- Rainwater collection
- Irrigation systems
- Choosing the right plants
- Reducing the impact of the wind
There were lots of opportunities to ask questions and discuss the various methods and get to know other growers. We also enjoyed some of Dianne and David’s fabulous cakes!
